Our Community Walk

On the 22nd of April all of the Grade 1/2s went on a long walk around Deer Park. We went on the walk to learn about what is in

Deer Park.

First we crossed the school crossing and walked along Little Street. We saw lots of wooden houses and letter boxes. When we got to the roundabout we turned left. Next we saw a milk bar that sells icy poles and magazines.

Afterwards a man talked to us about the Senior Citizens Club. He told us that they play bowling and chat and drink coffee.

Then we walked down to Kororoit Creek. Mrs Fazio told us that tiger snakes, brown snakes and blue tongue lizards can live there.

Eventually, we reached the Hume and Hovell Monument. This big rock has been there for nearly 100 years.

Finally we passed the Deer Park History Mural. We saw lots of pictures made from clay that some children at our school made.

We had an AWESOME time on the walk. We learnt that there are lots of animals, plants and things we can see and use in our community.
